I'm here to give you some feedback on your game. I saw it in Steam's "new releases" tab and thought "This looks like the passion project of a freelance game developer." I knew I had spent 5$ on worse games in the past, so I decided I should see what it's about. Your post crying about the poor sales also sold me on it I believe that the game itself is fine enough. I enjoyed my time with it overall, but there were rough spots here and there that became increasingly more frequent as it went on. The game froze and closed itself twice, and I had a hard time keeping track of the story because of the poor English translation (I could somewhat understand it, though. I can't blame you-English is a really tough language to learn from what I've heard.) On the other end of the spectrum, the art was amazing and the story felt strong and personal to you. I can relate to giving up on a project only to force myself into completing it months later. I can tell you have a passion for the craft and put a lot of love into the game and everything inside it. It's the type of thing you can only get from an indie developer. I have a bit of advice for a freelance developer such as yourself. Feel free to ignore it, though, as I have no experience with freelance work and I'm mostly repeating what other people say: Keep going - Nobody is born great at something. This felt like it was one of your first games, and it may not have been great, I can assure you that you will get better at making games with practice. Don't expect to make a lot of money: Because of the internet, it's very easy to find free video games. And people like free stuff. It is very hard to set yourself apart online when there are other people offering free things, and extremely hard if you are not. In the future, you might want to offer a free demo for your games so the people will know what they are buying. Even then, solo developers rarely break past obscurity. TLDR: if you are worried about money, don't expect game development to give it to you. Anyways, with all that said, I enjoy your game a lot, and what it lacks in polish the story and art made up for. 7/10. Good luck on your future endeavors!
Thanks, I've read all of this!! I don't have friend to test this game, I don't really have real life friend... All I writing this game story I just wanna venting this thing I had, I think demo was too short for this game, plus I making game to the point, where it late demo. Visual novel are not my type game, I can't believe it that I resist myself making this game. There currently there is three version right now, first was unreleased, second was in itch io and third was in steam. fourth is currently working in progress. I am just making next version of this game, since I wanted to focus gameplay more than story this time. I was thinking to keep this version in beta tab...
your site is so cute im from thailand too
Thanks x3! You too?
dont ask why i did dat but hi
Hi
even then i could relate to the theme of being unable to finish a project, unable to be happy with how it's turning out, and the spooky bits like the long corridors (both 2D and 3D) worked really well, they were properly creepy even with, or probably because of, the otherwise cute artstyle ok this time for real john freeman out
Thanks you... I've read every word you written T_T
this is john freeman. keep in mind that success on steam largely depends on your pre-existing social media presence and just luck. you should not get discouraged by the low sales - i'm sorry it's not going as well as you'd hoped but like 99% of steam games are in a very similar situation. you'll have to wait because there's like 100 000 games on steam and counting. i liked the game btw, my only real problem was the english (though it added to the spooky factor) and the fact you can softlock and get forced to load a save on the entrance to mew's room. okay this is long john freeman out
